Distance and area measurement is a free-to-download app that measures the distance and area you traveled during an adventure — whether it’s a walk around your community, a run, or a long drive to your favorite place. Before using this app, make sure it has permissions to your location.

Distance and area measurement includes metric and imperial units of distance and area and allows for the enabling of map display. Also, this app is best used outdoors and in areas spanning at least 10,000 sq. ft. You can also export and import a measured travel area.
Exporting it as a KML file enables you to view the content on Google Earth and Google Maps. If you install this app on another phone, export the file as a DAMEF so you can view it on that device. Unfortunately, this tool is known for its unreliability and inconsistency.
